Pally Biscuits builds connected factory on Factorise
September 1, 2025

Pally Biscuits, one of Europe’s leading private-label biscuit manufacturers, is building their connected factory on Factorise. What started as a single digital issue board has grown into a full shopfloor platform spanning four suites and 41 connected machines.
Pally runs high-volume bakery production from their facility in Nieuwegein, the Netherlands. The challenge was familiar: production data lived in silos, issues were tracked informally, shift handovers depended on who happened to be around, and OEE was calculated after the fact rather than in real time.
The project, internally known as “Bits & Biscuits,” rolled out in stages. First came the Issue Optimiser for structured issue capture and root cause analysis. Then Production Performance for real-time OEE monitoring across all lines. Production Execution followed, digitising changeover procedures, order tracking, and quality checks. Digital Lean brought daily management into one place: SQDEC boards, shift handovers, and action follow-up.
On the connectivity side, Factorise and technology partner Reniver connected 41 machines to the platform via PLC integration (Siemens and Allen-Bradley), creating a unified OT data layer through Reniver’s Reniway Edge platform. That data feeds directly into Factorise’s OEE calculations, downtime analysis, and operator dashboards.
Typical results reported: 28% productivity boost through faster changeovers and reduced downtime, 20% cost savings from less waste and rework, and 75% improvement in cross-shift collaboration. As Pally put it: “One operator platform, connected to our machines, makes that possible.”
The next phase focuses on expanding machine connectivity to the remaining PLCs and moving toward predictive insights based on the integrated data foundation.
